Two-hour Boat Ride on Lake Päijänne
Do you want to enjoy the natural beauty of the Finnish lakes by boating around the Säynätsalo and Muuratsalo islands? The boat's captain tells you about the nature and takes care of your security.
We take a slow and quiet tour around some of the most beautiful scenery of North Lake Päijänne, the second largest and deepest lake in Finland. Other boats equipped with more powerful engines that slide on the surface of the water slip by, but after the fuss dies down, your boat's silence becomes even more pronounced. The goal is to replace the motor with an electric one as long as their technology and batteries become established and prices fall.
We pass slowly through Alvar and Elissa Aalto's summer house, Muuratsalo Experimental House, almost hidden in the forest. This tour doesn't include a visit to the Experimental House. See another tour, including a visit to Experimental House.
On Muuratsalo island, near the Experimental House, we will stop for a break in Naukula, a campfire place where we would have time for coffee and snacks (included).
The boat used for transportation is a domestic Terhi boat, which can carry up to seven people.
The engine is a moderately sized gasoline engine.
The boat is stable, and it is easy to board and land with the support of the railings.
All passengers are informed about the safety equipment and their use at the start of the journey, and it ensures that the passengers feel safe as soon as the journey begins.
Boating and moving in the campfire require weather-appropriate equipment and sturdy shoes.
