6-Hour Guided and Sustainable Walking Tour

Join us for a guided and sustainable walking tour in the footsteps of Aalto. The tour starts at 10 AM from the Aalto2 Museum Centre, where our guide will greet you, briefly introduce the day's program, and provide tickets to enter the museum. You'll have an hour to explore the museum and grab some snacks at the Aalto2 Café (not included).

We'll reconvene at the café at 11 AM. Then, we'll embark on a guided walk of about 2 kilometres around the Jyväskylä University Campus area and the main building.

In alignment with our commitment to sustainability, we'll venture next to Säynätsalo via a 35-minute local bus journey, blending seamlessly into the local way of life. Once we arrive, we'll have a buffet lunch (included) at Restaurant Juurikkasaari, located on a small island within walking distance of the bus stop.

After lunch, a guide will take you on a one-kilometre beautiful urban nature walk and introduce female partners and influencers, such as architect Wivi Lönn and director and owner of the local industry Hanna Parviainen. The tour will then lead us to the Säynätsalo Town Hall for a 45-minute guided tour.

The tour ends around 3.15 PM.

Afterwards, you can indulge in delicious pastries at the Café & Bakery (not included).

We'll provide a return bus ticket to Jyväskylä Centre.

If you've booked a stay in the Town Hall apartments, you'll receive your keys and have time for a nap before we embark on a tour of Muuratsalo Experimental House at 5 PM (option next morning at 9 AM – 10.30 AM).

• 12:40 PM - 1:20 PM: Local bus ride to Säynätsalo (15 km)

• 1:20 PM - 1:35 PM: Walk to Restaurant (1 km)

• 1:35 PM - 2:20 PM: Lunch at Restaurant Juurikkasaari

• 2:20 PM - 2:35 PM: Walk to Säynätsalo Town Hall (1 km)

• 2:40 PM - 3:15 PM: Guided tour of the Town Hall

• 3.15 PM – 3.40 PM Own time to explore the Town Hall, Café, Library
