AaltoGo Car Sharing – A Smart Alternative to Owning a Car
In the summer of 2025, a car-sharing service will become part of Säynätsalo Town Hall’s offerings. This pilot project is a collaboration between Tavolo Bianco Oy and Omago Oy, providing residents and visitors with a flexible way to travel without the costs and hassle of owning a car.
Do you really need to own a car, or could you share one with others? The Säynätsalo car will initially be a mild hybrid, but if demand is high and infrastructure is developed with the city, the vehicle – or even multiple vehicles – could transition to fully electric models in the future.
This summer’s pilot project runs from May 15 to September 15.
In addition, Omago’s car-sharing service is available in Jyväskylä city center, with some fully electric cars already in operation. This means users can enjoy car-sharing both in the city center and in Säynätsalo.
Save Money and Reduce Hassle
Have you ever calculated how much your car costs you annually? Purchase price, insurance, fuel, maintenance, tire changes, and other expenses can quickly add up to a staggering amount. With a car-sharing service, you only pay for what you use – meaning you’re not paying for a car that sits idle in the driveway. Fuel is also included in the price of AaltoGo rentals!
Car-sharing also removes many of the worries that come with car ownership. No maintenance, no inspections, and best of all, your money isn’t tied up in a vehicle that just sits unused in a parking space you pay for. Simply book the car and drive. Convenient, right?
A More Eco-Friendly Choice
Driving pollutes, but could it pollute less? Car-sharing can reduce traffic congestion and the need for parking spaces, as one shared car can replace up to ten privately owned cars. Many services are also introducing electric cars, taking us one step closer to a cleaner future.
Flexibility and Ease
What if you could choose your car based on the situation? With car-sharing, you can. Need a small car for a quick grocery trip or a spacious vehicle for a weekend getaway? No problem, the choice is yours.
